OSEA, OEA and NEA are all dedicated to serving students.
That includes trying to improve the lives of all of our students inside and outside of the classroom through social just efforts and political action. We focus our political action on issues that directly impact schools and classrooms. We also work to educate our members on issues of social justice, including the impacts of redlining, the reality of the school to prison pipeline and so many other current and relevant issues.
Previous political actions include marching in the March for Our Lives in Columbus and participating in #ArmMeWith, a campaign bringing attention to what teachers really need to create safe classrooms.

Black Lives Matter and Anti-Racists Resources
Racism and oppression have been a chronic issue within our nation for centuries. In June 2020, after the tragic death of George Floyd, the nation protested to change the way African Americans are treated in the United States. The Black Lives Matter movement greatly affects our students and the education system. As future educators, we must educate ourselves on these topics to stop racism and help educate our students.
