The Ohio Student Education Association is a part of the larger National Student Education Association. We work to create a strong community of educators that are prepared to teach, and supported both as aspiring educators and as educators.

The Ohio Education AssociationOSEA is the student subgroup of the Ohio Education Association. OEA represents 123,000 teachers, faculty members and support professionals who work in Ohio's schools, colleges and universities to help improve public education and the lives of Ohio's children. The Ohio Student Education Association is a preprofessional organization of undergraduate and graduate students preparing for careers in education.
OSEA's objectives are to help prospective educators develop an understanding of the teaching (and other educational) professions; to provide a unified student voice in matters affecting the teaching profession; to influence conditions under which prospective educators are prepared; and to advance the interests and welfare of students preparing for careers in education. |

Joining
Currently, the Ohio Education Association pays all state and national dues for OSEA. You will receive a subscription to Instructor Magazine as well has have access to articles and resources online. Member benefits include coupons for restaurants, magazines, travel, as well as insurance and financial resources. You will have access to OEA and OSEA programs and professional development. During your first year of teaching and regular NEA membership, you'll be eligible to receive a rebate of $20 for each year you were a student member. Reach out to any officer to receive a membership form & join today!
The OSU OSEA local dues are $5/semester, which helps supplement our programming, including socials, food at meetings and giveaways, among other things. However, we do not turn members away based on ability to pay, so if you are unable to pay these dues, simply reach out to us!

OSEA at Ohio State
OSEA was founded in 2005 as a student organization at Ohio State. We earned official affiliation in school year 2007-2008. We are a group for undergraduate or graduate students interested in careers in education. We provide learning, service, and social opportunities for members.
